Waipo’o Falls at Waimea Canyon

Waip’o Falls, a glorious two-tier, 800 foot waterfall, cascades into the deep and colorful gorge of the Waimea Canyon below. The Waimea Canyon, also known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, whose nickname was coined by Mark Twain, is a scenic treasure and a must-see attraction. Located on Kauai’s west side, the canyon was formed thousands of years ago by erosion and is complimented with an array of red, brown, green, grey and purple hues, waterfalls and frequent rainbows.
