Wailua Falls Rainbow

A magnificent rainbow appears through the mist of the gorgeous double-tiered Wailua Falls and arches its colorful spectrum over the Wailua River in this lush and enchanting scene. A true testament to beauty and magic of Kauai, this rare moment only occurs on a clear day when the sun hits at just the right angle. This was a particularly rainy day near the winter solstice when I was lucky enough to watch the sun come out to form a rainbow at the base of the 83-foot falls and capture this spectacular display.
