Kalalau Rainbow Bridge

A rainbow bridge over Kalalau Valley: one of the most famous views in Hawaii. This shot was taken in January 2018 when a visiting friend wanted to see the Valley. I waited a couple of days for the conditional to be just right to catch rainbows. Inhabited until 1919, it’s been featured in countless films including the original “King Kong,” “Jurassic Park” and “Six Days and Seven Nights.” Kalalau Valley is not only the highest elevation accessible by road at 4000 feet; it is also the largest valley on Kauai.
