Bali Hai Sunset Four Panel Koa Wood Transfer

$1,900.00

Bali Hai sits amongst majestic twilight hues that cascade across the sky and reflect in the waters of the shallow reef at Tunnels Beach. Bali Hai or Makana Mountain, which means a reward or “gift from heaven” in the Hawaiian language, is a part of a National Tropical Botanical Garden at the beginning of the Na Pali Coast on the north shore of Kauai. The name Bali Hai comes from the 1958 film “South Pacific” in which the pyramid-shaped Makana represented a mystical distant island by that name.

The koa wood comes from a farm on the north shore of Kauai.  Koa is an endemic hardwood (it’s only found in the Hawaiian Islands).  Kauai koa is actually a specific sub-species, “Kauaia Koa”. The wood has been kiln dried and treated with furniture polish.  The art piece comes ready to hang with pairs of sawtooth hangers on the back.
