Hanalei Dragon

“Puff the Magic Dragon” from the popular 1960s folk song is often connected to the sleeping “dragon” that protects Hanalei. “Puff” can be seen nestled among the green mountainside that wraps along the peaceful crescent-moon bay on Kauai’s North Shore. On this calm summer day, there is magic everywhere you look and Hanalei feels truly mythical. As one of my favorite camping locations, I love to be the first to wake up and watch the shadows shift with the rising sun.
